HNT ALUMNUM WINCH FAIRLEAD

We designed this fairlead specifically for use with our HNT Hidden Winch Skid Plate, to provide high clearance in keeping with the HNT philosophy. Standard fairleads would break the plane of the skid plate surface, placing the lower lip more in jeopardy of getting hit by rocks. The HNT Aluminum Fairlead has beveled outer edges to help the fairlead itself tuck in better. We also opened up the rope slot slightly, to ease the rope angle from winches mounted slightly below the plane of the fairlead, as our HNT Hidden Winch Skid does. But this fairlead isn’t relegated to use with our HNT Skid, it’s features are just as useful wherever your winch is mounted, when you’d like just a bit of extra clearance to keep your fairlead out of the rocks.

The HNT Aluminum Winch Fairlead is CNC machined from billet aluminum. We haven’t settled on a finish for it yet. Some in the shop are leaning toward powder-coat with a secondary milling operation on the cable-way. Others are lobbying for hard-coat anodized. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

THE HNT DESIGN ETHOS

LOBO Off-Road’s proprietary High-N-Tight Design Ethos guides the product development of this and every component in our HNT Series. The HNT Ethos strives to tuck every facet of the bumper, slider, skid or component as close as possible to the vehicle components it protects, in order to yield the maximum clearance possible to slip past the tightest obstacles. While HNT Series components are built to take a hit if necessary, they are designed to minimize the risk of contact in the first place. HNT design language also incorporates low-drag surfaces with ramp angles and facets for guiding the vehicle up and over obstacles when contact is made, rather than hanging up on sharp corners and protrusions. While the HNT Design Ethos is silent on the subject of aesthetics, we believe that adhering to the High-N-Tight philosophy has the unintended consequence of yielding the best looking armor products possible.
